HOWDY, I’M BROOKE

Hey, I’m Brooke - a small town soul living in Kansas City with my sweet hubby and goldens. My husband and I are originally from Grinnell, a tiny town in Northwest Kansas. We moved to KC when I was in graduate school and have since built roots in the Downtown Overland Park neighborhood. I am a pediatric occupational therapist by trade, and love helping children & families through an OT lens.

My passion for people and serving unites my trades together often, and that is when I feel the most creatively alive. I shot my first wedding over 10 years ago, so I’ve been in the biz for awhile now. I choose to shoot about 12 weddings per year so that I am able to devote the time and energy you deserve. Quality over quantity is my anthem. :)

A HUSBAND AND WIFE DUO

Even though the name of the business is “Brooke Buck Photography,” Wade is responsible for many crucial parts of this shared vision & passion. Many of the beautiful images featured on the website and print shop were captured by Wade, and if Brooke took them, Wade was right by her side helping behind the scenes.

If you have seen Wade in action, you understand his unwavering patience, creative problem solving, and how he can fix literally anything. He has removed stains from a bride’s dress, fixed speaker malfunctions, hooked up a generator during a power outage, & endlessly more day saving actions! Brooke might be biased, but feels strongly that this business is leveled up due to Wade’s skills, support for Brooke, and overall, by the cohesive flow that a married duo can provide on your best day ever.

EVERY STORY IS IMPORTANT AND BEAUTIFUL.

I can’t wait to tell yours, because it deserves to be remembered for decades. My approach is storytelling. When I see that raw human emotion and catch it on camera, that is what makes my heart beat the hardest.

I live for those in-between moments when your grandpa is carrying your dress, your bridesmaids are nervous laughing at each other's tears, your daughter is independently exploring, & the tiniest little details of your growing children.

Those moments are real - it takes intentionality from a photographer to capture them. I truly care about the whole session and the entire wedding day, not just those beautiful scenes. During our session, I value who you are and try to make you feel your best so that I can artfully document this season of your life. I aim to tell your story in the most beautiful, timeless way.

There will be lots of laughter, movement, and connection. I am here to hype up your big and little moments in life.

I encourage you to be fully present with each other. Try not to worry about your hair blowing in the wind, your kids running around, or if your husband is smiling big enough. Part of what makes these sessions magical is the authenticity and relatability behind the photos. I will handle the rest!
